Child Crisis Arizona’s new family wellness center boasts a new state-of-the-art dance studio for ballet classes that will be managed by The School of Ballet Arizona. Read on to see what programs we have to offer starting in January 2025.

Dance With Me
Ages 18 months – 2 years old | Tuesdays 9 – 9:45 AM

Classes available starting January 7!
The perfect way to get moving with your little one, join The School of Ballet Arizona for a fun and interactive dance class made for toddlers.
- Please note: a parent or guardian is required to participate with each student.
Drop-Ins are welcome! Advanced registration is highly recommended.
Creative Movement
Ages 3 – 4 | Tuesdays 10 – 10:45 AM

Classes available starting January 7!
With the use of props, songs, and games, children ages 3-4 can increase their strength and flexibility, build community, grow their creativity, and foster their love for dance. At age 4, students are welcome to audition for placement in our Primary A Level class, meaning enrollment in Creative Movement helps your child prepare for the start of their dance education.
- Students must be fully potty trained.
Drop-Ins are welcome! Advanced registration is highly recommended.
Children's Division
Primary A & Primary B Levels
- Ages 4-5 (Primary A) | Tuesdays 3:45 – 4:30 PM
- Ages 5-6 (Primary B) | Tuesdays 4:30 – 5:30 PM

Classes available starting January 7!
Children’s Division (ages 4 and up) offers an introduction to the art of ballet by promoting the exploration of creativity and expression through movement. Our syllabus is created to introduce children into ballet technique. Once students complete this division, they will have knowledge of basic ballet concepts.
- No previous ballet training is necessary!
- Students must pre-register
- A trial class is required for placement prior to enrolling. Our first trial class is on Tuesday, Jan. 7!
Adult Open Classes
Ages 14 and up
COMING SOON TO MESA!
Open to teens age 14 and up and adults of all ages, this program is a great way to experience dance training, stay in shape, and have fun! Three levels of ballet classes are offered: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.

Native American Hoop Dance
Ages 6 – 12 years old
Instructor: Sky Duncan
Classes available starting February 5th!
- BEGINNER (Ages 6-8) | Wednesdays 5:30 – 6:15 PM
- INTERMEDIATE (Ages 9-12) | Wednesdays 6:15 – 7 PM
Ballet Arizona offers Native American Hoop Dance classes for Native American youth of various ages and levels, providing an opportunity for students to learn from their instructors Eva Bighorse and Sky Duncan. This program is part of an initiative by Ballet Arizona’s Tribal Nations Advisory Council, which seeks to partner with the local Native American community.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Hoop Dance Classes are open only to Native American youth.
- Tribal affiliation must be verifiable.
Creative Aging Through Dance
Wednesdays 2 – 3 PM

Since 1986, Ballet Arizona has been dedicated to preserving and celebrating classical dance while creating new and innovative works. Under the new artistic direction of internationally acclaimed choreographer Daniela Cardim – a former soloist with the Ballet of Municipal Theatre of Rio de Janiero and Dutch National Ballet – Ballet Arizona is excited to follow her lead to the future of dance in Arizona. During its 38th season, the Valley’s professional ballet company will present Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, the U.S. premiere of Frida, Spring Mix, All Balanchine and Eroica. Since 1977, Child Crisis Arizona has served vulnerable children and families in Arizona and is committed to preventing child abuse and neglect through education, holistic health and wellness, prevention and intervention. CCA offers emergency shelter, residential care with education and health services for children and youth from birth to 21 and offers foster care and adoption services, early education as well communitywide parenting classes, workshops, support groups and much more. Child Crisis Arizona has positively impacted nearly 100,000 children and families since its inception.
