Corporate Highlight: CopperPoint Insurance Companies

At Ballet Arizona, our holiday season does not truly begin until we start rehearsing for Ib Andersen’s The Nutcracker. Tchaikovsky’s Waltz of the Flowers can be heard in the studios in the middle of October and does not stop until our last show on December 24. We are incredibly thankful to be able to bring this holiday favorite to families across the Valley, and that would not be possible without the support of CopperPoint Insurance Companies.

For some history on the company, CopperPoint was founded in 1925 and is the premier provider of workers compensation in Arizona. Headquartered in Phoenix, CopperPoint is committed to ensuring that the cities and towns where the company is based have a strong, safe, and vibrant environment to both live and work.

“CopperPoint believes that as a good corporate citizen, we have a responsibility to actively engage the arts in the communities where our employees live and work.” says Marc Schmittlein, President & CEO. “We understand that a thriving arts community promotes economic development and cultural enrichment. By supporting arts organizations like Ballet Arizona, we are helping build a vibrant workforce and a well-balanced life experience for our employees, our customers and our business partners.

Since 2012, Ballet Arizona has been honored to have CopperPoint as the title sponsor of The Nutcracker because it is so much more. Every Nutcracker, Ballet Arizona dedicates one performance to our Angel Night program, we work with social service organizations across the Valley and provide free tickets to smiling children and their families. To cap-off the evening, as everyone exits Symphony Hall children are given take-away bags filled with pencils, toothbrushes, toys, stickers and free happy meal cards. This performance gives some of these children and families a chance to have a normal holiday season, a pinch of happiness and sometimes a whole lot of hope.

This small but impactful detail would not be possible without the support and hard work of all the CopperPoint employees who year after year help stuff Angel Night Goodie Bags. An assembly line is made in a conference room and employees drop in and out throughout the day as we get our groove going with some music in the background and get to know each other as we work. Each year is a bit different, but the one thing that never changes is the positive impact that this group of employees makes on our Angel Night guests.

Thank you CopperPoint for your wonderful support!
