To me, ballet is about nature in a big way. So what I bring to the plate is everything that I’ve done since I was born. I have a very raw interest in most everything. You can do almost anything with dance. It’s like painting a picture. Whatever you want to do you can do. http://blog.balletaz.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/2-120504_baz_1013.jpg 602 1100 Dana Manners /wp-content/uploads/2016/08/logo-balletaz-white.png Dana Manners2017-03-23 20:20:472017-04-13 18:20:35Behind the Scenes with Ib Andersen: "Rio"
Breathing life into original choreography requires a gift of artistry, vision and execution, all within the realm of infinite patience. No one does this better than our Artistic Director Ib Andersen! http://blog.balletaz.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Heffernan_Jim-Kathryn-Groves_Kate-Cavanaugh_Joseph.jpg 617 1100 Dana Manners /wp-content/uploads/2016/08/logo-balletaz-white.png Dana Manners2017-03-16 19:06:332017-06-01 16:27:24An Evening with Today's Masters
For years, audiences have been watching me on stage, as I bring to life characters from beautiful ballets, making them forget about their realities, transporting them to different worlds, making my steps look effortless and alive, but, sometimes, I wonder if they really know the meaning of what I do? http://blog.balletaz.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/2-NMagnicaballi-in-Mosaik.jpg 519 1100 Dana Manners /wp-content/uploads/2016/08/logo-balletaz-white.png Dana Manners2017-03-09 20:20:232017-03-23 20:25:39Dancer's Story: Natalia Magnicaballi
I really enjoy the process of creating a piece. Coming up with ideas. It’s a lot of fun for me. I really enjoyed doing the Brazillian piece, “Nine O’Clock”, for “Innovations”. It really reminded me of home. I even included a song that my dad and I used to listen to in the car. http://blog.balletaz.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/130505_baz_3672.jpg 927 1100 Dana Manners /wp-content/uploads/2016/08/logo-balletaz-white.png Dana Manners2017-03-02 23:54:202017-03-30 17:11:26Behind the Scenes with Nayon Iovino: "Today's Masters"
From the moment you walked into the lobby, you could feel the energy in the room. Friends, old and new, mingled with Company dancers who were excited to enjoy an evening wearing gowns and jackets instead of pointe shoes and tights. http://blog.balletaz.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Brady_Brian_Lewis_Sharron-Brady_Marel.jpg 551 1100 Dana Manners /wp-content/uploads/2016/08/logo-balletaz-white.png Dana Manners2017-02-23 22:15:542017-03-16 19:14:35Dance with Me Gala 2017
What a great evening we had on January 27. It was a fun and information packed night to thank Prima Circle members for their generosity and support of Ballet Arizona. It was the perfect mix of learning more about the art form we adore, a delicious dinner, mingling with dancers, and watching a rehearsal of Romeo and Juliet. http://blog.balletaz.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Curley_Betsy-Fowls_Suzie-Schiffner_Adrienne-1.jpg 549 1100 Dana Manners /wp-content/uploads/2016/08/logo-balletaz-white.png Dana Manners2017-02-15 23:51:382017-03-09 20:21:39Prima Circle's Evening in Fair Verona
What I have learned in my six month tenure as Executive Director is that it only takes one person to inspire us all. Any gift of any size can be truly transformational. One Angel Night gift of $30, one brand new Corps de Ballet donor, and one extraordinary woman who single-handedly changed the organization with her everlasting legacy. http://blog.balletaz.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Kromholz_Seth-Davie_Glaser-Turner_Samantha.jpg 551 1100 Dana Manners /wp-content/uploads/2016/08/logo-balletaz-white.png Dana Manners2017-02-08 18:51:522017-03-02 23:58:18The Power of One
"Ballet Arizona provides vignettes that help enhance and deepen our understanding of the emotions and physicality of this art form. We never tire of learning more." - Mary and David Patino http://blog.balletaz.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/172-Patino-Mary-David.jpg 551 1100 Dana Manners /wp-content/uploads/2016/08/logo-balletaz-white.png Dana Manners2017-02-07 00:47:232017-02-09 21:50:40Donor Spotlight: Mary & David Patino
“This summer intensive helped me grow as a dancer. I absolutely love how the teachers are so involved in making sure you understand everything. I wasn’t a very confident dancer before this intensive, but now I feel like I can express myself to my full potential! Thank you so much!” – Trinity, Cleveland, OH http://blog.balletaz.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Bland_140605_SBAZ_486.jpg 551 1100 Dana Manners /wp-content/uploads/2016/08/logo-balletaz-white.png Dana Manners2017-02-02 16:49:552017-02-23 22:16:52SBAZ Summer Intensive Auditions Happening Now
